Nick Ossello, a former two-sport Notre Dame athlete with roots deep in the Mining City, is playing for the Major League Lacrosse’s Denver Outlaws.

Ossello, who was traded to Denver from the Chesapeake Bayhawks on June 22, was the subject of a recent feature story in The Denver Post.

After a stellar career at Wheat Ridge High School in a suburb of Denver, the son of Butte native Steve Ossello stared on the Notre Dame lacrosse team for four seasons. Then, after considering transferring to the University of Montana to play football during his last season of eligibility, Ossello played football for the Fighting Irish last season.

Nick Ossello is the grandson of Guy and Madeline Ossello of Butte. He has numerous relatives in Butte.
