Make it two Butte guys representing Montana at the Knights of Columbus Badlands Bowl.
Recent Butte Central graduate Jake Michelotti was called as an injury replacement for Saturday night’s game at Dickinson State University. Michelotti is leaving today for Miles City to train with the All-Star team.
Michelotti will play guard on the offensive line for the Montana team.
The Montana Tech signee will join former Butte Central teammate Kyle Schulte, who received a call last week. Both former Maroons will represent the West in next month’s Montana East-West Shrine Game in Butte.
The 6-foot, 245-pound Michelotti earned All-State and first-team all-conference honors as a defensive tackle in 2015. He also played on the Butte Central offensive line.
Michelotti, a three-year starter on both sides of the ball for the Maroons, was also named to the USA Today All-Montana Team as a defensive lineman.
The Badlands Bowl, which is also often called the Mon-Dak, dates back to 1994. Montana leads the all-time series 16-6.
