Bellach Named NAIA First Team All-American

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced the 2022-23 Men’s Basketball All-America Teams today. Montana Tech’s Caleb Bellach was named to the NAIA All-America First Team.

Bellach, who is in his second season after joining the Orediggers before last season, was an NAIA Honorable Mention in 2021-22.

Bellach was named the Frontier Conference Player of the Year this season. The 6-foot-7 a junior guard also received his second first team all-conference honor this year.

The Manhattan, Montana product led the conference in scoring averaging 21.8 points a game while shooting 50% from the field. He was second in the league in free throw percentage hitting 84.5% from the line. Bellach ranked seventh in the league in rebounds averaging 5.7. Bellach hit career highs in points (27) and rebounds (11) this year and was named the Frontier Conference Player of the Week three times.

Nationally, Bellach was ninth in the NAIA in points per game during conference action. Bellach became a member of the Oredigger 1,000 point club this season and is currently 10th on the all-time scoring list with 1,015 points in just two seasons.

The Montana Tech Orediggers completed their best season in program history finishing with a 29-5 overall record.  The Orediggers reached the NAIA National Championship Quarterfinals for the first time in school history.
