Young baseball players learn from top coaches

The Southwest Montana Baseball Camp drew 26 baseball players age 8-11to Miners Field at 3 Legends Stadium Thursday.

The campers worked on hitting, fielding, base running and more at the camp that ran from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Ryan Wardinsky, a major league scout for the Miami Marlins, conducted the camp along with Belgrade Bandits coach Johnny Graham, Butte Miners and Muckers coach Craig Smith and Butte Miners catcher Ryan Moodry.

The Southwest Montana Baseball Camp is in its second year at the new Butte stadium. Organizers said it will return next year.

The camp for players 12-18 runs from 3 to 7:30 p.m.
