Th Yotes moved to 9-0 by scoring 28 second half points to overcome Western’s 20-10 halftime advantage.
COI turned the deficit into a lead with four straight touchdowns. Nick Calzaretta scored on an 11-yard run before Darius-James Peterson found Hunter Juarez for a 31-yard score for a 24-20 lead.
Josh Ellsberry added a 26-yard pick six, and Justin Hellyer broke free for a back-breaking 69 yard run late in the fourth quarter.
Jon Jund passed for 306 yards and a touchdown in the loss. He was picked off twice.
Nate Simkins caught seven passes for 115 yards. Fellow Beaverhead County High School graduate Jason Ferris led the Bulldog defense with 11 total tackles and a sack.
The loss knocks the Bulldogs out of playoff contention. Western closes the season next Saturday at home against Southern Oregon.
