Yellowjackets sting Maroons in four

STEVENSVILLE  — Kyla Paulson’s 15-kill night led the way as Stevensville knocked off Butte Central in a four-game Southwestern A volleyball match Thursday night.

Stevensville won 25-23 and 25-20 before the Maroons bounced back to win Game 3 25-14. The Yellowjackets put the match away with a 25-20 victory in Game 4 to drop the Maroons to 2-3 overall and 2-2 in conference play.

Danee Leary powered the BC attack with her second big match of the week. The senior hitter smacked 19 kills and collected 17 digs — both team highs.

Mariah Cooney added 12 kills and eight digs, while libero Danika Neumann notched 14 digs. Cassidy McGree also reached double digits in digs with 11.

Butte Central is back in action Saturday when they play host to Corvallis during their homecoming match at 4 p.m. at the Maroon Activities Center.
