THREE FORKS — Butte Central’s slow start was too much to overcome Thursday night.

The Maroons scored just seven points in the first half, and fell 41-27 to Three Forks in non-conference girls’ basketball game.

Peyton Gage scored seven of her team-leading 11 points from the free throw line to lead the Wolves, who led 11-7 before outscoring BC 30-20 in the second half.

Kendall Lynn added nine points for Three Forks (4-3) in the win. Lilly Jones scored five for Three Forks, while Jayden Woodland tossed in four, Ashlyn Swenson drained  3-pointer, and Erin Welter scored one.

Maddie Kump’s 11 points paced the Maroons, who fell to 1-9 on the season. Sofee Thatcher scored six points for BC, which got four from Taylor Harrington and three apiece from Delaney Hasquet and Emma Keeley.

BC will be on the road Saturday to take on Corvallis in a Southwestern A game.
