Brad Wilson of Butte captured the bronze medal Sunday in the men’s World Cup dual moguls event at Megeve, France, in the last World Cup event of the freestyle moguls skiing season.
The two-time Olympian finished in third place behind World Cup leader Mikael Kingsbury of Canada and runner-up Benjamin Cavet of France.
Jaelin Kauf of the United States was the women’s champion in Sunday’s event while Perrine Laffont of France was second and Justine Dufour-Lapointe of Canada placed third.
Kingsbury repeated as the men’s World Cup season champion while Dmitriy Reiherd of Kazakhstan was second and Ikuma Horishima of Japan third. Wilson finished in eighth place in the world standings and was No. 1 among Team USA men’s team competitors. Laffont was the women’s champion with Kauf second and Britteny Cox of Australia third.
The Megeve meet was held after a two-week break on the World Cup schedule caused by fog that canceled a competition at Airolo, Switzerland, last weekend.
Wilson’s older brother, Bryon, the 2010 Olympics Bronze Medalist, did not compete in the French meet.
