PARK CITY, Utah – One streak continued and another ended in the single moguls competition Thursday night at the World Cup freestyle skiing competition on the Deer Park resort slopes.

The report by FIS SKI said Ikuma Horishima of Japan won the men’s event, upsetting Canadian Mikael Kingsbury, who placed second. Felix Elofsson of Sweden was third, rounding out the podium reachers. A clump of Team USA skiers placed 10th, 11th, 12th in the men’s standings – Butte’s Brad Wilson taking the 12th spot. Nick Page of Park City was No. 10 while Jesse Andringa sped into 11th place.

There were 54 entrants in the men’s competition. Kingsbury has won at Deer Valley 11 times.

Perrine Laffont of France won for the fifth straight time in as many women’s singles moguls events on the World Cup season so far. Jakara Anthony of Australia placed second and had been the leading qualifier heading into the finals. Third place went to Canada’s Justine Dufour-Lapointe.

The Deer Valley competition featured the aerial contestants Friday night, then is bringing the mogulists back on Saturday for a duals event.
