Whitefish boys, girls win Western A golf

POLSON — The Whitefish boys’ and girls’ golf teams captured the Western A Divisional golf titles Saturday at the Polson Bay Golf Course.

The Bulldog boys ran away with the title, shooting a 308. Hamilton took second at a distant 332, and Polson placed third at 351.

Whitefish’s girls shot a 379, beating second-place Polson by 18 shots. Corvallis took third at 400.

Corvallis junior Macee Greenwood won girls’ medalist honors with a 74. Cameron Kahle of Whitefish won the boys’ title with a 72. He beat teammate Billy Smith by two shots.

Senior Phil Dwyer was the lone Butte Central player competing. He shot a 110 and did not qualify for the Class A State tournament, which is Thursday and Friday in Butte.
