SALT LAKE CITY — Esther Lee hit seven 3-pointers and scored 27 points Friday night as Westmont beat Montana Tech 59-48 in a non-conference college women’s basketball game.

The game was part of the Westminster College tournament.

Kelsie Sampson added 16 points and five rebounds in the win.

Kelsey Dewit scored 14 points and grabbed five rebounds to lead the Orediggers. Mandy Machinal added 12 points for Tech, which also got eight points and six rebounds from Victoria Turner and seven from Sophia Baetz.

Also, Hattie Thatcher scored four points, Rachel Farris tossed in two and Shayla Mack netted one.

Tech lost for the first time in four games this season. Two of Tech’s wins, though, were exhibition games and won’t count in their overall standings.

The Orediggers play the College of Idaho on Saturday.
