Molly Klinker of Montana Western was named the Frontier Conference’s Women’s Basketball Player of the Week, the league announced today.
Klinker is a 6-foot-1 junior forward from Fairfield. The Bulldogs improved to 6-0 with a pair of victories over St. Thomas (Fla.), 70-57 and 82-49.
She averaged 13 points, 7.5 rebounds and two assists. Klinker hit 10 of 18 field goals (56 percent), 4 of 6 3-point field goals (67 percent) and was 2 of 3 from the free throw line.
Katie Estey of Carroll College and Jacy Thompson of Montana State-Northern were also nominated.
On the men’s side, Oliver Carr of Carroll College was named the Player of the Week.
Carr is a 6-6 sophomore forward from Bozeman. Carroll played two games over the weekend. They defeated Northwest Indian College 121-86 to raise its overall record to 3-1.
The Saints also lost an exhibition game to the University of Pacific.
Carr averaged 18 points, two rebounds and one assists per game. From the field, Carr hit 14 of 19 field goals (74 percent) and 8 of 9 free throws (89 percent).
Chad Kananen of Rocky Mountain College and Trevail Lee of Montana State-Northern were also nominated.
