Maldonado makes first team
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Montana Western junior Brynley Fitzgerald is an All-American.
The 5-foot-11 former Dillon Beaver was named to the third team of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) All-American team, which was released today. The honor comes after Fitzgerald, who began her college career at Montana State, was named first-team all-conference.
Fitzgerald led the Frontier Conference with 16.8 points per game during the season. Her 37 points against Carroll College in January was the most points scored by a player in a Frontier Conference women’s game this season.
“Brynley was really consistent for us all year,” Western head coach Lindsay Wooley said in a statement. “I was happy to see that she received some recognition for the hard work she put in over the summer.”
Emilee Maldonado of the University of Providence was named first-team All-American. Carroll College star Danielle Wagner received second-team honors. Parker Esary of Providence joined Fitzgerald on the third team.
Carroll players Christine Denny and Jamie Pickens received an honorable mention.
