Western women win fourth straight

DILLON — McCall Hasquet led three Montana Western women’s basketball players in double figures with 16 points Friday night, and the Bulldogs beat Rocky Mountain College 74-45 at the Straugh Gymnasium. Stats

The win was the fourth straight for the Bulldogs, who improved to 6-5 in the Frontier Conference and 12-9 overall.

Hasquet also grabbed a game-high nine rebounds to help Western win the battle of the boards 48-35.

Sammi Bignell added 14 points and seven boards, while Roxy Thurman scored 10 points.

The Bulldogs also got seven points from Kelsey Callaghan and six each from Jenna Banks, Melody McCloud and Baylie Smith.

Brittany Kumm scored eight points to lead the Battlin’ Bears, who fell to 0-12 in conference and 7-14 overall.

The Bulldogs will try to win their fifth straight Saturday when they play host to Dickinson State.
