Western players sweep Frontier volleyball honors

WHITEFISH — Montana Western student-athletes swept the selected Frontier Conference Volleyball Players of the Week awards, the league announced today.

The honors come after Montana Western went 3-1 at the Kansas Wesleyan tournament. The Bulldogs beat Kansas Wesleyan 3-2, Dakota State (S.D.) 3-2 and Friends University (Kan.) 3-1, and lost to No. 12 Columbia (Mo.) 3-0.

Attacker of the Week: Jessie Weber, Montana Western

Weber is a 5-foot-8 junior defensive specialist from Elburn, Illinois. Weber averaged 3.55 kills with a .362 attack percentage. She also averaged 2.29 kills and 3.41 digs per set.

Tammy Maddock of MSU-Northern was also nominated.

Defender of the Week: Tannah Sellers, Montana Western

Sellers is a 5-9 junior defensive specialist from Eden, Idaho. Sellers averaged four digs per set on the weekend. She had a 92 percent serving percentage.

Setter of the Week: McKenna Fink, Montana Western

Fink is a 5-foot-8 junior setter from Highland, California. Fink averaged 4.35 assists per set on Western’s 3-1 weekend.
