Western men sixth in postseason poll

Montana Western’s men’s basketball team finished the season ranked No. 6 in the nation.

The Division I NAIA coaches’ postseason poll was released today. The Bulldogs, who won two games at the national tournament to reach the elite eight, moved up seven spots from the last poll.

Western finished the season at 24-10. The Bulldogs are the highest-ranked Frontier Conference team.

National champion Georgetown (Ky.), of course, finished No. 1. SAGU of Texas, which beat Western in the quarterfinals, is ranked No. 2.

Frontier regular-season champion Lewis-Clark State was ranked No. 19, down 14 spots. MSU-Northern and Rocky Mountain College, which won the Frontier tournament title, received votes.
