Montana Western head basketball coach Steve Keller has announced the signing of Morgan Ray, a 6-foot guard from Lewistown, to an NAIA Letter of Intent.
“We are excited that Morgan Ray as decided to join our basketball program at Montana Western,” Keller said. “Morgan averaged more than 15 points per game and is a very good 3-point shooter.
Ray was selected first team all-conference and named offensive MVP for Fergus High School after averaging 15.29 points per game, 4.5 rebounds per game, and 1.7 steals per game, while shooting better than 38 percent from 3-point territory as a senior.
Morgan played at Fergus High School for former Western standout Jeff Elliott.
Ray was not only a standout on basketball court where he earned four varsity letters, Ray was also a four-time letter-winner in track and field. He also garnered first team all-conference honors at outside linebacker on the football field, where he was a three-year letter-winner.
Morgan Ray is the son of Morey and Laurie Ray, the honor roll selection plans to study Business Administration at Montana Western.
“We look forward to watching Morgan’s progress at Western,” Keller said.
