Western men sent home

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — With six players scoring in double figures, William Penn (Iowa) knocked off Montana Western 85-77 in the first round of the NAIA national tournament Wednesday night. Stat sheet

Brady Buford’s 17 points led the way for William Penn, which moves on to the second round with a 28-6 record.

Connor Woodill scored 31 points to lead the Bulldogs, who close the season at 19-13. Western Also got 13 points from Demitrius Balark and 10 from Shyke Smalls.

Dexter Williams Jr. scored eight points and grabbed 10 rebounds.
