BILLINGS — The Montana Western men’s basketball team outscored Rocky Mountain College 49-34 in the second half Thursday night, and the Bulldogs knocked off the Battlin’ Bears 81-74 in a Frontier Conference game at the Fortin Education Center. (Stats)
Cedric Boone tossed in 21 points to lead the way for the Bulldogs, who lifted their record to 11-13 overall and 4-9 in conference.
Boone was one of four Bulldogs to reach double figures. Max Clark came off the bench to score 17 points in the win. Derrek Durocher added 15 points, and Connor Burkhart netted 12.
Grant Wallace scored 24 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to lead the Bears (6-17, 1-13), who saw four players reach double figures scoring. Clayton Ladine scored 14, Darius Henderson tossed in 12, and Sam Vining scored 11.
Western returns to Dillon for a showdown with Carroll College on Saturday. The Bears are off until next Friday’s trip to Havre to play MSU-Northern.
