DILLON – The Frontier Conference regular season co-champions and tournament runner-up Montana Western Bulldogs have earned a selection to the 2015 Buffalo Funds – NAIA Division I Men’s Basketball National Championship to be held in Kansas City, Missouri. Bracket

Montana Western was selected with the fourth at-large bid to the tournament as Frontier Conference Tournament champion Lewis-Clark State secured the automatic bid for the league. The Bulldogs landed at the number 18 spot in the final NAIA Coaches Top 25 poll while Lewis-Clark jumped to 13. Rocky Mountain College was also awarded an at-large bid after falling to Montana Western in the semifinal round of the conference tournament.

Montana Western will make its fifth trip to the national tournament under head coach Steve Keller. The Bulldogs advanced to the round of eight in their last appearance at the 2013 tournament.

The Bulldogs will face the Ravens of Benedictine College in an opening round game Wednesday March 18, 2015 at 6 p.m. Benedictine enters the tournament with a 22-8 record and the Heart of America Athletic Conference host bit after falling in the semifinal round of their league tournament.

Rocky plays Talladega (Alabama) at 1:15 p.m. Thursday, while LC State plays Westmont (California) at 8:45 p.m. on Thursday.

“We pleased with our position in the tournament and feel Benedictine is a good matchup,” Bulldog head coach Steve Keller said. “Benedictine lost to a team we beat earlier this year, we are ready to get to work watching film and excited to be back at the national tournament.”
