Western makes it 3 for 3 against Tech women

DILLON — Brianna King poured in 26 points Thursday night, and No. 4 Montana Western knocked off Montana Tech 89-68 at the Straugh Gymnasium. (Stats)

The Bulldogs won all four quarters as they ran their record to 22-2 overall and 13-2 in Frontier Conference play. The win also completed a three-game sweep of the Orediggers in the regular season.

King also dished out four assists, and Western saw five players reach double figures scoring. Britt Cooper scored 14 points to go along with seven rebounds. Paige Holmes score 13 points, while Cierra Lamey and Savanna Bignell each scored 11.

Tori Anderson finished with nine points.

Mesa Williams scored 22 points to pace the Orediggers, who fell to 12-14 and 2-13. Celestina Faletoi scored 11 points, while Dani Urick, Tjaden Pallister and Mollie Peoples each scored eight. Kaylee Zard contributed with seven points and 11 boards.

The Orediggers will play host to Lewis-Clark State Saturday at the HPER Complex. The Bulldogs will play the Warriors Friday in Dillon.
