West stops Bulldogs spikers in four

BILLINGS — Butte High’s volleyball team settled for taking just one game for Billings West Saturday.

The Bulldogs wrapped up their season-opening road trip with a 25-14, 10-25, 25-15, 25-16 Eastern AA loss to the Bears.

Karlie Cleveland tallied 13 kills, while Kennedy Hildebrand added 11 to lead the way for West, which improved to 2-1 overall and 1-1 in conference. The Bulldogs fell to 0-2.

Abby Dodge smacked 13 kills to lead the Bulldogs up front. Hannah Amtmann had another huge match, collecting 30 digs to lead the Bulldog backcourt. Dodge and Amanda Pickle each notched eight digs. Erika Spear dished up 20 assists.

The Bulldogs will play at home Saturday when Missoula Sentinel comes to town.
