West Side names captains for 73rd Shrine Game

Two players from Helena High and two from Missoula Sentinel will lead the West Side in Saturday’s 73rd Montana East-West Shrine Game on the Bob Green Field.

Holden Sampson and Alex Johnson of Helena High and Jace Dewalt and Rylan Ortt of Sentinel were elected captains by their teammates Wednesday. The selections were announced on the sports radio show KBOW Overtime.

Sampson is 6-foot-3, 255 pound offensive tackle, while Johnson is a 6-2, 185 pound outside linebacker. Dewalt is a 5-11, 175-pound cornerback, and Ortt is 6-2, 195-pound quarterback.

Dewalt has signed to play football at the University of Montana. Sampson, Johnson and Ortt will play at Montana State.

The Shrine Game kicks off at 7 p.m. Saturday. The parade will run through uptown Butte starting at 10 a.m. Saturday.
