LEWISTON, Idaho — Lewis-Clark State College swept a Frontier Conference basketball doubleheader with Montana Western Thursday night at the Activity Center.
Kiara Burlage notched her fifth double-double of the season to lead the No. 25 Warrior women. The former Columbia Falls Wildkat matched a career high with 20 points. She also pulled down 11 rebounds.
Jamie Nelson added 12 points for Warriors, who improved to 12-5 overall and 4-3 in league play with the win.
Savanna Bignell’s 12 points and seven rebounds led No. 22 Western. Brynley Fitzgerald added 10 points, while Shannon Worster and Mesa King each scored six.
Damek Mitchell scored 19 points to lead five players in double figures for the No. 12 Lewis-Clark State men. He also dished out eight assists and grabbed eight rebounds.
Jake Albright tossed in 18 points, while Travis Yenor scored 15, and Jasiah Westbrook and Trystan Bradley each netted 12.
The win runs Lewis-Clark State’s record to 18-1 and 6-1. Western fell to 9-9 and 2-5.
James Jones scored 15 points to lead the Bulldogs. Connor Burkhart added 10 points and eight rebounds. Western also got nine points apiece from Max Clark and Derrek Durocher and seven from Davonte Eason.
Western will play at Montana Tech on Saturday. The doubleheader begins with the women’s game at 5:30 p.m.
