Warriors pull away from Oredigger women

LEWISTON, Idaho — Lewis-Clark State College used a big second half to pull away from Montana Tech for an 82-58 victory at the Activity Center. (Stats)

The game was the Frontier Conference opener for both teams.

Abbie Johnson and Jossilyn Blackman each scored 21 points to lead the Warriors, who outscored Tech 44-22 in the second half. Tech had pulled to within 38-36 at halftime thanks to a second-quarter run.

Lewis-Clark (9-1) broke the game open with a 26-11 run in the third quarter.

Johnson added seven rebounds for the Warriors, who won the battle of the boards 42-29. Hailey Turner scored 12 points in the win. Hannah Burland and Kiara Burlage each scored eight.

True freshman Dani Urick scored 18 points to lead the Orediggers (8-2). She is the only Tech player to reach double figures.

Messa Williams scored nine, while Celestina Faletoi tossed in eight, Mollie Peoples score seven, and Lana Berg netted six. Post players Shay Potter and Kaylee Zard were each held to four points. Sharlei Graham-Bernisto tossed in two
