LEWISTON, Idaho — Lewis-Clark State College put an end to Montana Tech’s three-game winning streak Friday night.
The Warriors had to work overtime — and then some — to do it.
Lewis-Clark State out scored Tech 11-6 in the third overtime for a 79-74 win at the LCSC Activity Center. (Stats)
The non-conference game was part of a tournament hosted by the Warriors.
The teams were tied at 52 at the end of regulation, at 61 after the first overtime and at 68 going into triple overtime.
Three Lewis-Clark State players posted double-doubles as the Warriors improved to 3-0. Sara Muehlhausen scored 16 points and grabbed 14 rebounds to lead the way. Maddie Holm tossed in 14 points and pulled down 16 rebounds, and Heidi Sellmann contributed with 15 and 12.
Adyson Clabby came off the bench to score 10 points in the win.
Tavia Rooney had a huge game to lead the Orediggers (3-3). She scored a game-high 18 points to go along with 15 boards and four assists. Brooke Heggie tossed in 16 points for Tech., while Celestina Faletoi came off the bench to score 14.
Also for the Orediggers, Dani Urick scored seven points, Ally Cleverly scored six, Madison Allen tossed in five, Audrie Rademacher tossed in four, and Mollie Peoples and Soda Rice each scored two.
Tech will close the tournament against Eastern Oregon at 2 p.m. Saturday.
