Warriors edge Western women

DILLON —  Lewis-Clark State College’s women’s basketball team improved to 15-1 overall and 3-0 in conference Friday night with a 49-45 win over Montana Western at the Straugh Gym.

Tanis Fuller scored 12 points, while Brittaney Niebergall scored 10 points from the free throw line to lead the Warriors, who overcame a 19-13 halftime deficit.

Sammy Bignell scored 16 points and grabbed 12 rebounds for the Bulldogs, who only saw four players score points. Melody McLeoud added 11 points. Jenna Banks added 10 points, and Kelsey Callaghan scored eight.

Western fell to 1-2 in the Frontier Conference and 7-6 overall with the loss, that came one day after an overtime win over Montana Tech.
