HELENA — Roman Pruneda-Garza couldn’t get a desperation 3-pointer to fall at the buzzer, and Montana Tech’s men’s basketball team fell 65-63 to Corban University Friday night at the P.E. Center.
The non-conference game was part of the Carroll College Classic.
Jordan Carter tallied 18 points to lead four Warriors in double figures in the win. Caleb Herzberg scored 17, Toby Roth netted 13 and Ernst Kruger posted a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds. Corban improved to 3-1.
Brandon Rydberg scored 24 points to lead the Orediggers, who fell to 4-3. Adam Greger poured in 10 points while Travis Peevey tallied nine.
Also for Tech, Trent Thompson scored seven and Pruneda-Garza scored six points to go along with a team-leading six rebounds and five assists.
“We did not execute in the last two minutes and that was what determined the outcome of the game,” Tech coach Patrick O’Herron said. “We did some positive things on defense we held Corbin to 65 when they came in averaging 88. We just have to figure out away to be more efficient on offense.”
The Orediggers conclude the tournament in Helena Saturday at 5:30 p.m. against Biola University.
