Warriors deny Western men in Frontier semifinals

DILLON — Doug McDaniel scored 29 points to lead four Lewis-Clark State players in double figures Saturday night, and the Warriors knocked off Montana Western 101-95 in the Frontier Conference men’s semifinals at the Straugh Gym. Stats

The win sends the Warriors (23-9) to Tuesday’s Frontier championship game against Carroll College in Helena. Carroll College beat MSU-Northern 72-57 in the league’s other semifinal.

Anthony Sullen added 22 points in the win. Zavon Jackson scored 18, and Trea Thomas tossed in 11.

Dom Robinson scored 39 points in the losing effort. Shyke Smalls scored 18 points, Zaccheus Darko-Kelly tossed in 16, and Kooper Kidgell scored 12.

Western also got eight points and 10 boards from Marcus Payne.

The No. 10 Bulldogs (24-7) will still be heading to the NAIA National Tournament.
