HELENA — Danielle Wagner poured in 22 points Saturday night to lead No. 8 Carroll College to a 65-49 Frontier Conference win over Montana Tech at the P.E. Center. (Stats)
The sophomore guard from Havre hit four 3-pointers and shot 9 for 12 from the field as Carroll improved to 3-0 in the Frontier and 11-3 overall.
Wagner was one of three Saints to reach double figures in a win that saw Carroll outscore Tech 33-15 over the middle two quarters. Carroll led 35-25 at halftime, and the Saints broke the game open with a 15-6 third quarter.
Christine Denny added 14 points in the win. Hannah Dean scored 11 points and dished out seven assists
Chelstina Faletoi scored 10 points to lead the Orediggers. Kaylee Zard and Hailey Crawford each scored nine points, while Mesa Williams scored six. Zard pulled down 10 rebounds as the Orediggers won the battle of the boards 36-17.
The Orediggers also got six points form Dani Urick, five from Tjaden Pallister and two from Megan Delaney.
Tech, which fell to 0-3 in conference and 10-5 overall, will play host to Rocky Mountain College next Saturday night.
