Volunteers to clear trail on Sorini Day

The ninth annual Pete Sorini Day will feature a log-out of the Continental Divide Trail in the Highlands in advance of hiking and biking season, organizer Gina Evans of Linked Adventures said.
It will be held on June 8, meeting at Highland Camp at 9 a.m. Evans said plans are for workers to return to camp at about 4:30 p.m. Clearance will take place between Highlands Camp and Lime Kiln (Pete Sorini CDT Adopt-A-Trail section), Evans said. Lights snacks and coffee are to be provided in the morning with a barbecue by Rick Douglas to follow trail work.
Evans encourages volunteers to sign up by June 1 to be included in the food count. She also said a community meet-up will be held the night before, June 7, at 6 p.m. at the Montana Tech Open Space Butte Bike Park.
