Utes run past Tech men in exhibition game

SALT LAKE CITY — This time it was the Montana Tech men’s basketball team’s turn to be on the wrong side of a lopsided score.

Five nights after putting up 114 points in a win over Yellowstone Christian, the Orediggers fell 95-45 to the University of Utah in an exhibition game at the Huntsman Center. (Stats)

Four players scored in double figures to lead the Utes, who place fourth in the Pac-12 last season. Sedrick Barefield and David Collette each scored 15 points to lead the Utes. Gabe ealer and Tyler Rawson added 10 apiece.

Chris O’Neill scored 10 points to lead the Orediggers, who found themselves in a 51-27 halftime hole.

Nick Fitts scored nine points for Tech, which got seven points from Jake Miles and five apiece from John Chapman and Dylan Pannabecker.

Iman Chatman, who scored three points, pulled down five rebounds.

The Orediggers are back at home Friday and Saturday when they participate in the inaugural Tip Off Tournament at the HPER Complex.
