WHITEFISH, Mont. – Montana Tech’s Michael Ure was named the Frontier Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week again.
Ure, a 6-7 sophomore forward, received the award last week and has two conference honors in the early part of the season.
Montana Tech was in Dillon for the Montana Western Classic last weekend. The Orediggers went 2-0 and improved to 5-0 on the season. Tech defeated Eastern Oregon 70-61 Friday and Dickinson State 76-68 to finish the weekend.
Ure had his second and third double-double games of the season and three straight. He averaged 14.5 points and 10 rebounds a game on the weekend. Ure shot 9 of 24 from the field and went 4 for 9 from three-point range and 7 of 8 from the free throw line. He had 17 points in the victory over Dickinson on Saturday.
Montana Tech is the tournament host this weekend for the Montana Tech Classic. The Orediggers face Lewis-Clark State Friday and play Dickinson again on Saturday.
