The 2015 Grizzly Golf Tournament packed the Butte Country Club Friday afternoon.
The tournament, which includes a handful of coaches from the University of Montana, drew 94 golfers to the storied Butte course.
Play began with a 12:30 p.m. shotgun start.
Tournament organizer Don “Moose” Petritz pointed out that last year’s tournament had 93 golfers.
“We got one more than last year,” Petritz said. “We’re heading in the right direction.”
The tournament field includes new Grizzly head football coach Bob Stitt, former Grizzly head football coaches Mick Delaney and Mick Dennehy, Grizzly defensive coordinator Ty Gregorak, UM tennis coach Kris Nord and current Grizzly golfer Hailey Hoagland.
UM basketball coaches Robin Selvig and Travis DeCuire will be in town for the tailgate dinner and auction that follows the round. Cost to attend that is $20.
Petritz said the tournament has raised about $75,000 over the past five years. That money goes to athletic scholarships and facility improvements at the University of Montana.
