Tyler Avery wins the Yellowjacket Fall Invite

Billings, Mont.- Montana Tech’s Tyler Avery has won the Yellowjacket Fall Invite. Shooting a final round 67 (-5) to finish the tournament at 209. (-7), Tyler was able to jump to the top of the leaderboard and stay there.

Entering the final round Tyler was sitting at -2, in a tie for second place. Out of the 51 golfers on the course today, only five shot under par, and no one touched Tyler.

He finished the day with four birdies, a bogie, and an eagle on the 550-yard, par 5, 2nd hole.

Joseph Vincent from South Dakota School of Mines finished second, four shots back at 213 (-3), Hunter Hall from Central Wyoming College was third at 214, Max Noffsinger was fourth at 215 (-1). There was a four-way tie for fifth at even par.

Individually for Tech, Gabe Witham finished at 222 (+6) with was good for 22nd place. Jhett Braleyand Joe Opitz tied for 30th, both finishing with a 228 (+12)

The Team Leaderboard finds Rocky Mountain College on top with an 867 (+3), MSU-B with an 869 (+5), and Central Wyoming in third with an 878 (+14). The Orediggers finished in sixth place overall, shooting an 893 (+29).

That is the final event of the fall season for the Orediggers, they will head out to the local golf courses and continue their game on the simulators.
