Two Butte High wrestlers still alive at CMR

GREAT FALLS — Two Butte High wrestlers advanced to Saturday at the CMR Holiday Classic Friday at the CMR Fieldhouse.

Bulldogs Canyon Mullaney and Will Stepan are both battling on the consolation side of the bracket after losing in the quarterfinals.

Mullaney is wrestling at 113 pounds, while Stepan is competing at 126.

Billings West holds the first-day lead with 148.5 points. Billings Senior is second at 130.5, followed by Great Falls at 118.5.

Butte High, which is competing in the varsity tournament with 12 junior varsity wrestlers, scored 46 points, which is good for 26th place.

Butte High’s girls’ team will be part of the CMR Girls’ Holiday Classic on Saturday. Butte High will also have more grapplers compete in the Great Falls JV Invitational.
