Tuesday’s Hot Ticket: Maroon basketball

Prep boys’ basketball
Stevensville at Butte Central, 7:15 p.m.

The Maroons will be back at home as they look for a bounce-back win against the Yellowjackets in the Southwestern A game at the Maroon Activities Center.

BC fell to 2-4 in conference and 4-5 overall with Saturday’s 49-33 loss at Dillon. That loss came after the Maroons beat Hamilton and Anaconda.

Sophomore Dougie Peoples is one of the top scorers in the state. He leads the Maroons with 20.9 points per game. Classmate Kyle Holter averages 8.0 points for the Maroons. Senior Bryan Holland adds 6.4

The Yellowjackets are 0-8 in conference and 0-11 overall. Central beat them 70-32 Jan. 23 in Stevensville. Kellan Beller averages a team-best 12.8 points and 6.8 rebounds.

The Maroons hit the road looking to stay red hot.

Central is 5-1 in the Southwestern A and 9-1 overall after going 3-0 last week. BC beat Dillon twice and Anaconda once to roll its winning streak to five games.

Junior Sofee Thatcher averages 10.3 points and 6.5 rebounds for the Maroons. Sophomore Brooke Badovinac averages 9.9 points. Senior Avery Kelly is coming off Saturday’s 14-point performance.

The Maroons beat the Yellowjackes 56-30 Jan. 23 in Butte.
