Tuesday’s Hot Ticket: Carroll-Tech, Butte-Dillon

Girls’ prep basketball
Dillon at Butte High (Civic Center), 6 p.m.

The Bulldogs (4-2) ride a three-game winning streak into the non-conference game at the Butte Civic Center.

The Bulldogs are coming off Saturday’s 56-39 win at Great Falls High. Senior guard Ally Cleverly sank four 3-pointers and scored a season-high 22 points in that win. Classmate Aspen Lovshin scored 16 points.

Dillon (2-8) coming off Saturday’s 37-33 home win over Hamilton. Josey Jones averages 10.8 points and 6.3 rebounds per game to lead the Beavers.

Boys’ prep basketball
Dillon at Butte High, 7:30 p.m.

The Bulldogs look to halt a four-game losing streak when they take on the Beavers in the non-conference game in the nightcap of the twin bill at the Civic Center.

The Bulldogs are coming off a solid, but losing effort to Great Falls High on Saturday. Senior Clay Ferguson scored 14 points to lead Butte High in a 56-43 home loss to the first-place team in the Eastern AA.  Classmates Danny McCloskey and Trevyn Roth followed with 11 and nine points.

Dillon (7-3) is coming off Saturday’s 69-67 home loss to Hamilton. Michael Haverfiled’s 21.1 points and 4.1 rebounds per game leads the beavers. Braden Anderson adds 9.0 points per game.

Women’s college basketball
Montana Tech at Carroll College, 5:30 p.m.

The Orediggers (11-6, 1-5) head to the P.E. Center in Helena for the second time to take on the No. 8 Saints 9 (13-4, 5-1) in a Frontier Conference tilt.

Tech is looking to bounce back from Saturday’s 59-55 overtime loss at MSU-Northern. Mollie Peoples came off the bench to score 17 points to lead Tech in the loss. Mesa Williams added 16 points, while Kaylee Zard scored 10 points and grabbed 10 rebounds.

Carroll is coming off a 58-53 loss at No. 4 Western. Hannah Dean’s 12 points and 10 rebounds led Carroll in that game. Brittney Johnson scored 11 points.

Carroll beat Tech 65-49 Dec. 29 in Helena.

Men’s college basketball
Montana Tech at Carroll College, 7:30 p.m.

The Orediggers (13-5, 3-3) seek their third win in four games when they take on the No. 3 Saints (16-2, 5-1) in Helena.

Tech fell 72-60 at MSU-Northern Saturday in Havre. Helena native Taylor England scored 12 points to lead the Orediggers in that loss. Nate Ward and Troy Owens Jr. each scored nine, while Derrius Collins tossed in eight.

Carroll rolled to a 91-78 win over Montana Western Saturday in Dillon. Match Bernham scored 23 points to lead four Saints in double figures in that win. He was named the Frontier Conference Player of the Week on Monday.

The Saints beat Tech 76-68 Dec. 29 in Helena.
