The Bulldogs (0-6, 1-10) continue to run the gauntlet that is the Class AA Tuesday when they welcome the Hawks (4-1, 9-2) to the Richardson Gym.
Butte High is looking to stop a nine-game losing streak. To do so, the Bulldogs will have to beat the Hawks for the first time since the 2013 playoff upset in Bozeman.
Butte High is coming Saturday’s 55-34 home loss to Great Falls High. Lathan Ricketts scored nine points to pace the Bulldogs in that game. Clay Ferguson scored eight.
Mack Anderson, a 6-foot-9 senior, averages 16.6 points and 12.9 rebounds per game to lead the Hawks into town. Ryan Lonergan, a 6-5 junior, averages 11.3 points per game for the Hawks, who have won five out of their last six.
Prep girls’ basketball
Butte High at Bozeman, 7 p.m.
The Bulldogs (1-5, 4-7) head to Bozeman looking for their first Eastern AA road win when they take on the Hawks (2-3, 4-7).
Butte High has dropped four straight games since beating Butte Central Jan. 11, including Saturday’s 42-31 loss at Great Falls High.
Aspen Lovshin hit three 3-pointers and scored 15 points to lead the Bulldogs in scoring for the third time in four games. Fellow junior Brittney Tierney averages 10.7 points per game to lead the Bulldogs.
Alex Carey, a 5-10 senior, averages 11.1 points and 5.1 rebounds per game to lead the Hawks.
