The Bulldogs (2-8, 4-14) hit the road for a tall task when they take on the first-place Hawks (8-2, 16-2) in and Eastern AA game. Butte High gave Bozeman all it could handle for three quarters before the Hawks pulled away for a 65-53 win Feb. 4 at the Butte Civic Center. Aaron Weidenaar, a 6-foot-7 senior, scored 29 points to lead the Hawks in that game. Weidenaar averages 18.2 points, which ranks him third in the Class AA. Senior Trace Bradshaw (6-3) averages 11.2 points and 6.6 rebounds, while senior Bennett Hostetler (5-11) tosses in 11.7 points and 5.0 rebound. Junior guard Ryson Lovshin scored 20 points in the first meeting with the Hawks. Classmate Brock Powell tossed in 19. Butte High closes the regular season Friday at Billings Senior. Tuesday’s game will be carried on KBOW, 550 AM 101.5 FM or online.

The Butte Civic Center will set the scene as the Bulldogs (2-8, 2-16) take on the Hawks (7-3, 10-8). Behind 15 points from 6-2 senior Caitlin Longergan Bozeman beat Butte High 58-27 Feb. 2 in Bozeman. Lonergan averages 12.2 points and 8.9 rebounds per game to lead the Hawks. Emerald Toth, a 6-1 senior, adds 12.1 pints and 8.6 boards. Freshman Ally Cleverly averages just under 10 points per game to pace the Bulldogs. Junior Abby Dodge, who has emerged as a force late in the season, averages 7.7 points per game. She has averaged 11.3 points per game over the last six outing. Butte High closes the regular season at home Friday against Billings Senior. The team won’t hold Senior Night festivities because the Bulldogs don’t have a senior on the roster.
