Tuesday’s Hot Ticket: BC, Butte High softball; Bulldog track

Butte Central at Stevensville, 3 p.m.

The Maroons (0-2) hit the road to open Southwestern A play. BC hasn’t played since falling to Polson and Columbia Falls March 28 in Polson. The Maroons will send ace Teresa Piazzola to the pitcher’s circle. She struck out 11 in a 7-4 loss to Polson that saw BC surrender four unearned runs. Shawnee Hjelt, Emily St. John, Corbyn Holm, Kloie Thatcher, Mollie Peoples and Megan Michelotti all hit doubles for the Maroons that day.

Belgrade at Butte High, 3 p.m.
The Bulldogs (0-3) will get in one final tune up before opening Eastern AA play when they take on the Class A Panthers on Field 1 at Stodden Park. The Bulldogs bats woke up to the tune of 19 hits on Saturday. The team, however, fell to Helena Capital and Helena High. Katelyn Alley homered to lead the Bulldog offense. Maria Michelotti hit a pair of doubles, while Bethany McLean and Amanda Spear each hit one two bagger. The junior varsity game is scheduled for 5.

Prep track
Butte High in Missoula, 3:30 p.m.

Butte High hits the track for the second time this season when they take on Sentinel, Hellegate and Big Sky. The Bulldog boys and girls placed third at a triangular against Billings Senior and Billings West in Billings last Tuesday. Sophomore Abby Dodge won the High jump and long jump last week. She qualified for the State meet in the high jump. Clay Dean won the 300 hurdles to pace the Butte High boys.
