CASPER, Wyo. — The Mining City Tommyknockers bounced back in convincing fashion Saturday night.
One night after dropping a 9-5 decision to the Casper Horseheads, the Tommyknockers rolled to a 10-1 Expedition League victory on Mike Lansing Field. (Boxscore)
The win evened the three-game series at a game apiece. The Tommyknockers and Horseheads will play the rubber match on Sunday.
Luke Trainer hit a homer and a double while driving in three runs to lead the Butte club’s 11-hit attack. Miles Hartsfield went 3 for 4 with a double and a pair of RBIs. Jack Walker added a double.
Seth Lucero and Jake Mastillo each added a pair of singles.
Starter Riley Powers pitched four innings, striking out three and walking three. Connor Phelan, Ryan Jacobs, Jason Kramlich and Jon Cordaway also pitched for the Knockers, who are 3-2 on the six-game road trip.
Eric Erato doubled, and Joe Schmidt hit two singles to lead the Horseheads.
