Tommyknockers sweep double dip with Horseheads

CASPER — The Mining City Tommyknockers concluded a 4-1 season-opening road trip with a doubleheader sweep of the Casper Horseheads at Mike Lansing Field.

The Knockers won the opener 14-3 (boxscore) before completing the sweep with a 1-0 win. Both games went seven innings in the doubleheader.

Carter Dombrinski tripled and drove in four runs, while Justin Green went 3 for 5 with two doubles to lead the Mining City in the opener. David Melfi hit a double and a single for the Tommyknockers, who led 6-3 before breaking the game open with eight runs in the seventh.

Zach Camp pitched a two-hit shutout in the nightcap, taking a no-hitter into the seventh inning.

A boxscore for the second game is currently not available. Eventually, it should be posted here.

The Tommyknockers will have Sunday and Monday off. They will play their first home game at 3 Legends Stadium Tuesday night against the Canyon County Spuds.

That will open a six-game homestand.
