Connor Phelan struck out five and scattered three hits in five shutout innings of relief to get the win. Dylan Wilhelm fanned two in a perfect inning to get the save.

Missoula native Drew Leonard had another strong start, going four innings, for the Butte club.

For the Sticks, the loss spoiled a solid performance by starter Parker Stohr, who struck out eight over seven and a third innings.

The Tommyknockers (13-11) remain three games behind first-place Souris Valley in the race for first place in the Lewis Division. They are one game behind the Big Sticks.

The teams close the four-game series Thursday night. Then they come to Butte to play three at 3 Legends Stadium starting Friday.
