Titles decided on city courts

A handful of city championships were won during the Adult City Tennis Tournament Thursday.

More will be decided in the coming days.

Mavis Bentley and Aidan Amtmann beat Molly Nelson and Jennie Reilly 7-5, 6-3 to win the women’s open doubles title. Bentley is the long-time head coach of the Butte High tennis team.

Amtmann and Nelson went to state as a doubles team in May.

Joe Fogarty and Tyler Reilly won the men’s open doubles title. The duo beat Kody Lane and Tucker Reilly 7-6 (7-5), 6-4 in the title match.

Fogarty will play Lane for the men’s open singles crown at 4:30 p.m.

In the women’s ‘A’ division, Carleen Cassidy beat her sister Lynette Casagranda 6-4, 6-2 to win the title. Cassidy also teamed up with Amy Kuenzi to win the ‘A’ doubles crown, beating all three opponents in the round-robin competition.

In another round-robin division, Bentley won the women’s open crown by going 3-0.
