Tippett wins BSSG masters half marathon

BILLINGS — Butte runner Chris “Iceman” Tippett won the masters championship of the half marathon of the Big Sky State Games Saturday.

Tippett, 58, completed the 13.1-mile course in 1 hour, 33 minutes, 38.45 seconds. That is at a pace per mile of 7:08. Tippett also claimed first place in the men’s 55-59 age group, beating the second-place runner by more than nine minutes.
