Tigers come from behind to edge Maroons, 44-43

MANHATTAN — Caden Holgate came off the bench and scored eight of his 14 points as Manhattan overcame an eight-point second half deficit to beat Butte Central 44-43 Thursday night in a non-conference boys’ basketball tame.

Holgate hit two crucial 3-poitners in the final frame, and Marcus Fenno added one to lift the Class B Tigers past the defending Class A state champs.

Evan Douma added eight points off the bench for Manhattan, which trailed 20-14 at halftime and 30-23 after three quarters. Manhattan outscored BC 21-13 in the fourth.

Tate Bowler and Corban Johnson added six points in the win. Fin Tesoro and Fenno each scored five.

Dougie Peoples poured in 21 points to lead the Maroons, who fell to 2-4. Kyle Holter scored eight points, while Bryan Holland tossed in seven, Bryson Sestrich sored five, and Drew Badovinac netted two.

Butte Central jumps back into Southwestern A play Saturday when they travel to Hamilton to take on the Broncs.
