Thursday’s Hot Ticket: Soccer, golf, volleyball

Prep golf — Western AA Divisional in Missoula, noon
Nine Bulldogs will head to the Ranch Golf Course looking to book a trip to the Class AA State tournament.

Senior Kodie Hoagland leads Butte High’s girls. She is the defending individual champion and lone holdover from last year’s Western AA title team. Hoagland also won the last two tournaments of the regular season.

Hoagland will by freshmen Dylann Bartoletti, Kendyllen Lean and Taylor Sullivan.

On the boys’ side, junior Jack Prigge will hunt for a divisional crown a year after being shutout of the postseason by a COVID-19 quarantine. He has placed in the top 5 in each tournament this season.

Bulldogs playing with Prigge will be freshman Brenner Booth, senior Joseph Lyons, sophomore Gavin Roesti and freshman Kade Corcoran.

Friday’s play begins at 8:30 a.m. The Class AA State tournament is next Thursday and Friday at the Cottonwood Hills Golf Club in Missoula.

Missoula Big Sky at Butte High

The girls open the doubleheader at the Jeremy Bullock Complex at 3 p.m. The boys will play at 5.

On the boys’ side, Butte High is looking for the season sweep of the Eagles. The Bulldogs (2-6) beat Big Sky 3-0 Aug. 28 in Missoula. Butte High’s girls are looking for their first win.

Butte High’s boys and girls were swept Tuesday at Missoula Hellgate.

Stevensville at Butte Central, 7 p.m.

The Maroons will celebrate Homecoming when they welcome the Yellowjackets to the Maroon Activities Center for the Southwestern A match.

The Maroons are coming off what might be their best match of the season. They went on the road and swept Frenchtown.
