Butte Miners at Southern District tournament in Livingston
The Butte Miners open postseason play at 2 p.m. Thursday against the Bozeman Bucks. Butte went 3-1 against Bozeman in the regular season. (Bracket)
Other first-round games see Helena play Dillon, Belgrade take on Livingston, and Anaconda battle Gallatin Valley. The top two teams move on to the Class A State tournament.
Expedition League Baseball
Pierre Trappers at Mining City Tommyknockers, 7:05 p.m.
Following the three-day All-Star break, the Tommyknockers are back in action Friday against the Trappers at 3 Legends Stadium.
The game opens the Tommyknockers’ second-to-last homestand of the season. The teams will play four games. The first three start at 7:05 p.m., while Sunday’s contest begins at 5:35.
At 9-8 on the second half, the Knockers sit in second place in the Expedition League’s Lewis Division. They are two games behind the Souris Valley Sabre Dogs and just a half game ahead of the third-place Badlands Big Sticks.
The Trappers are in the cellar of the Clark Division at 5-12.
