Thursday’s Hot Ticket: Maroons, Dogs, Diggers

Prep softball
Corvallis at Butte Central, 3 p.m.

The Maroons look to move to 2-0 in Southwestern A play when they welcome the Blue Devils to Stodden Park for their home opener.

BC’s last action saw the Maroons beat Stevensville 12-10 April 8 in Stevensville. Brooke Badovinac and Sofee Thatcher each smacked four hits in the win.  Jaeden Berger added three hits, including two doubles.

Central is 1-2 overall. Corvallis comes to town at 3-0 overall and 1-0 in conference.

Prep track
Butte High at Helena Frosh, 3:30 p.m.

Vigilante Stadium will set the scene as the Bulldogs take their freshmen team to compete. The meet will include Great Falls Russell, Great Falls High, Helena High, Helena Capital and Missoula Hellgate.

Butte Central girls at Corvallis, 4:30 p.m.
Central’s girls will compete for the first time in nearly three weeks when they head to the Sapphire Twilight Invitational.

Teams competing with the Maroons are Dillon, Charlo, Columbia Falls, Corvallis, Hamilton, Polson and Seeley-Swan.

Montana Tech at Trudnowski Open/Frontier Conference Multi Events Championship in Helena
The Orediggers will be Vigilante Field for the two-day meet that comes on the heals of impressive Tech performances at Spokane and California.

Thursday’s decathlon and heptathlon begin at 10 a.m. The multi-events begin at 10 a.m. Friday. Field events follow at 10 a.m., and running events start at noon.
